Hey! I'm Penny and I'm hoping to be your new yoga society Vice President! What excited me most about the position is as well as all the typical leadership qualities essential for a position as VP, I have a clear, compelling vision of how to best advance yoga society. First and foremost my goals is to make yoga society an accessible and welcoming (also fun!!!) community for everyone involved whether they practice once a month or everyday. If I elected, I would use my position to implement this by organising a wider variety of different styles of class that would suit the needs of all abilities in order to explore new practice in a welcoming environment. Additionally, I would work closely with the committee to help strengthen the sense of community within the society as we all share a common passion! Whether it be through more organised yoga-based trips or simply fun socials I can ensure there will be something for everyone! I believe in order to fully understand how to best improve your society experience its important to gauge what you, as members, want to see implemented. Therefore, I want to bolster our communication by running polls/ surveys for our members for what they want to see from their society and all views are heard and get turn your wants into reality! Overall, Yoga is all our own experience and as a hopeful VP my number one aim is to ensure your membership is one you absolutely love and feel connected to both inside and outside of practice! Thanks!

Hello everyone, I’m Derin!! I’m currently a first-year Arts and Sciences student. I’ve been a member of the yoga club this year, and I’d love to become the vice president in the upcoming year.

As vice president, I would strive to promote inclusivity and diversity within the community. I am committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all members, regardless of their background or skill level. I would love to work collaboratively with the committee to coordinate and organise yoga classes. I would also aim to build a stronger sense of community among the club members by planning intimate events which could help form meaningful relationships. Such events could be organised by creating niche groups based on members' interests.

I have past experience in leadership; having been a chair for MUN conferences and also been the team captain in group projects both in high school and at UCL. Additionally, I’ve been a volunteer leader in organising dog walks at the local animal shelter in my hometown. Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication and organisational skills, as well as a great understanding of effective teamwork. I am able to motivate the members of a team through goal-setting and creating a positive, collaborative environment. I believe these skills are valuable for being a successful vice president. I am committed to working hard to ensure that the club thrives and that all members feel supported and valued!!!
