Courtney Gao

My name is Courtney and I am currently a first-year student studying Economics. I nominate myself for Events Director because I am very suitable for this position, and I looking forwards to organise more interesting events.

First of all, I have a strong passion for the organization and planning of Events. In addition to actively participating in various events, I also have a lot of experience in events organisation. When I was in high school, I used to independently plan the social activities of the school many times. This allowed me to have a lot of experience in time schedules, booking rooms, restaurants, bars, and clubs, and even contacting sponsors. During university, I also worked as an assistant to help seniors organise events.

Secondly, I am good at socialising and communicating with people. I have networked with USGs and members from LSE, Kings College, and HULT's MUN society, which also laid the foundation for holding some joint activities of multiple schools in the future.

Thirdly, I have seen the shortcomings of UCLUNA's current events planning, and I think I can improve the current situation very well. First of all, A series of systematic training sessions should be held, and the procedure should be broken down into some small parts for teaching. Second, I think UCLUNA needs more activities to make every member feel more involved in the group.

All in all, I hope that I can have the chance to be the Events Director to contribute my own strength to UCLUNA.
