I’m Jodie, a second year BSc archaeology student hoping to take on the position of Treasurer. Tennis Society has been integral to my university experience: as a first year, I captained W1 and have competed for the team this year, whilst also developing my closest friendships within society. I would love to re-engage with the management side and contribute to the society's ongoing success.
Tennis has always been prominent in my life, having competed as a junior, worked for IBM at Wimbledon, and coached part-time. I spent two years on a sports scholarship at UMass where I worked with the university to provide content, manage outreach, and increase engagement. This experience helped prepare me to captain the female teams at STSC where I organised matches and managed team finances. I acquired funds by securing sponsorship from businesses, sports brands, and supporters, then divided them between allocations such as team kit, balls, court bookings and player expenses.
If elected, I hope to continue the financial growth and prosperity of the society, whilst providing for members. I would ensure that all court costs are covered for R&D, LUSL and BUCS, and quality equipment and kit is available through establishing sponsorship deals for the society. I also believe it is important to invest in events such as the tennis ball, socials, varsity, and inter-university matches to build a sense of unity and team spirit across all levels, creating pride at being a part of UCL Tennis.
