Nicole Si Tou

I play as part of the LUSL team and the socials and members within the society have allowed my first-year experience to flourish. I believe that within the tennis society, communications are a key aspect allowing tennis players and supporters to integrate into this community which has great respect for the sport.

My past internships in marketing have enabled me to gain experience on social media externally with regular posts on Instagram and internally with emails and newsletters to employees within the company. I also continued constant communication with all departments and teams, to ensure the engagement and inclusivity of members with varying opinions on events. These experiences have equipped me with the skill sets for the position of communications secretary.

I look forward to promoting more communication within the committee and society for future events such as socials and charity tournaments. I also believe it is important to spread the tennis spirit across UCL by posting updates on matches, trainings and images on socials. I hope that with my past experiences, I can contribute as a communication secretary and be able to spread more passion towards this community.

Ryoma Okabe

Hi everyone, my name is Ryoma Okabe and I’m a first-year student. I am running for the Communication Secretary because the homely vibe on the club Instagram page was what made me join R&D! Hence I want newcomers to feel the same welcome.

As com sec I will attract new players by running our Instagram, Facebook, and the member features. I also aim to inject life into our Youtube channel, posting digests of the matches/sessions. Since it is not easy for BUCS, LUSL and R&D to interact with each other, these videos will hopefully offer insights and inspire some to play at a higher level. On top of announcing events early, I will also publicise and outreach charity events (eg. This Girl Can, LGBTQ+, Ukraine, Turkey-Syria etc). By promoting such events, I think we can increase the inclusivity and public impact of our Tennis Club.

I have a rich experience of being organisers of events, for instance, the Producer of my high school’s Graduation Ceremony. With my seniors, I worked especially hard on creating memory-lane videos to begin and end the ceremony. I also negotiated with the parents’ union so that the ceremony could be documented and temporarily streamed on Youtube afterwards. These experiences taught me how to generate enthusiasm, not just amongst members, but potential members as well. I am confident that my creativity will be an asset to UCL Tennis.

Elena Fitzpatrick

Hi, my name is Elena and I am running for the role of Communication secretary.

I am currently a second year Chemistry with maths student and play for the LUSL recreational team. Tennis has been a big part of my university life so far and I would like to help people become more connected to the society and create appealing posts for not only current members but potential new members.

I started to cultivate an enjoyment for creativeness linked to social media during a recent internship I did for a startup where I was a part of their international marketing team and was tasked with creating an instagram page for a new branch of the company.

Overall, I would enjoy the opportunity to combine a love of tennis and a new found outlet of creativity by becoming the tennis communication secretary.

Charlotte Burdon

Hey! I'm Charlotte, a second year Biomed student.

This past year, I was on tennis committee as social sec and had a great time! I'd love to try something new, though.

Even though we're already the biggest society at UCL, social media is a great way to promote UCL tennis and get ourselves out there- which is where I come in. I would love to be able to share with others how great this society is!

Having worked hand in hand with the communication secretaries this year, I think that I'd be well suited for the role.                                       I love taking pictures of anything and everything, so you can definitely expect UCL tennis dumps from me. I guarantee that @ucltennis will become your favorite account.

If you love tennis, vote for me!

Lucie Bezner

Hey, I’m Lucie and I’m currently a Communication Secretary for UCL Tennis! Being part of the committee this past year has truly been a pleasure❤️. I got to meet and become friends with so many amazing and bright people. The committee really outdid themselves and delivered another marvellous year of activities, trainings and charity events. I am proud to say that I also played a part.

Being a communication secretary gave me the creative outlet, that I needed to get away from my studies. I really enjoyed (and still enjoy!) making posts and I am quite good at what I do, if I may say so myself! At the beginning of this academic year we managed to hit 2000 followers and now, as I am currently writing this, we have 2,255 followers! Tennis continues to be one of the biggest societies and I cherish being able to communicate with the rest of you through Instagram.

UCL Tennis is the most lively, friendly and homelike society, that I have ever been part of and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone ☺️. I hope to maintain that same warm and inviting environment, that encompasses the society.

Vote for me, if you want to see me as your Comm Sec next year. I promise to be fully committed and I will ensure that our society continues thriving! ???
