Students for Global Health Society: President

Hi! I'm Ishrat and I am running for the role of President of Students for Global Health UCL.

Studying Global Health iBSc this year has given me a newfound appreciation and understanding for the world of Global Health. It is through SfGH events and the mentorship scheme that I was able to further my knowledge of this vast field. By playing an active role in other societies here at UCL, I have planned and executed many events which have in turn, allowed me to develop my organisational and leadership skills. I am in awe of SfGH's unique ability to invoke thought, passion and shape mindsets and if elected, I would endeavour to continue and enhance this legacy.

Additionally, some new ideas I would aspire to implement if elected are as follows - 

• Increase the number of professional development opportunities. I hope to continue facilitating the outstanding mentorship scheme whilst also hosting networking events and seminars to connect our community with professionals in their fields of interest.
• Create more outreach opportunities. SfGH does amazing work with educating our community about inequalities and humanitarian issues around the world. I would like to utilise this further by promoting fundraising and social action campaigns throughout the year. I would also promote collaborations with other societies that may have the same motivations and aims.
