Stage Crew Society: Treasurer

I've been involved in quite a few shows over the last year and have loved learning new skills and meeting new amazing people. 

I now was to get involved within the society and help lead the society forward so I want to try doing something entirely new!  I think being Treasurer would allow me to play an active part in the society but would also allow me to help run some of the day to day runnings as well which I think could be really fun!

Hello!! I'm Zuri and I am running to be Stage Crew's next Treasurer. 

I had the opportunity to continue to work on both Externals and Blooms shows this year, which furthered my knowledge about the equipment and the theatre. More importantly, I had shown my commitment to the society as the Welfare Officer with Stage Crew, which also meant that I have a good idea of the operations and administrative aspects of the society. Such dedication and knowledge is crucial for the role of Treasurer as one of the principal officers and main link with the SU.

I have experience as Treasurer for my departmental society, where we organised events that required meticulous budgeting,  consistent communication with students, departmental staff, and external parties, as well as strong organizational skills. PMing has also helped me become detail-oriented, especially when dealing with receipts and transactions.

Some of my ideas next year is to improve the transparency of our finances by allowing our financial records to be accessible by members of the society. This includes providing crew members (on Blooms shows in particular) clearer guidelines on spending, reimbursement processes, and budgets for welfare snacks. Another idea is to create a proper, up-to-date cumulative spreadsheet with all spendings and income, which would be helpful in ensuring that the society’s finances are well-regulated and kept track of.
