Zara Ercan

I am interested in becoming the Marketing Officer for the squash club because I would like to keep squash members and anyone interested up to date and well informed of all the activities taking place, on a regular basis. Having only learnt how to play squash this year, I felt very welcome in the club from my first day and would therefore like to encourage many more people to join the club and have fun through advertising on social media. Squash has one of the best current society Instagram accounts I have seen which inspired me to keep up this quality and to continue increasing the outreach of squash events for the next year.

I appreciate all the help and communication I received as I joined as a new member and would often bombard Instagram messages with questions about tasters and how to join social squash sessions. Thus, I would like to reciprocate the help, answer everyone’s DMs about squash, and persuade them to join the club next year.

My experience with the usage of social media will allow me to successfully continue in this role, since I am familiar with the most effective ways of promoting all things squash, such as through Instagram stories. I am also aware of the creative resources used to design aesthetic posts and am excited to experiment with different patterns and colours, to maintain an attractive social media account. Additionally, I recognise the importance of communication between the Marketing Officer and other members of the committee, especially the President, for things to run as smoothly as possible

Shona Oliver

I'm Shona, a second year Philosophy student here at UCL. I've been on the women's team throughout uni, captaining it in my first year.

As your marketing officer, I will:

- deliver a biweekly email newsletter detailing team news, upcoming events, and Player of the Month (social or competitive)

- keep our Instagram (and Facebook for our older members!) up to date

- aim to increase our numbers through more taster sessions and collaborations with other societies

I already work in the marketing field, delivering consultations and playlist promotions for clients like Jack Harlow and Headie One. I've also devised marketing campaigns for charities such as Barnardo's. I'm looking forward to bringing what I've learnt onto the court!
