Dren Hakaj

Hey, I'm Dren, a first year Math student (sigh),

When studying a course like mine you need an escape, and for me Snowsports has been that escape, whether this was through socials, getting to know everyone, or travelling together on ski trips. Snowsports has been quick to make me feel welcome and involved through the training sessions every week as well as the friendliness within the society members and committee.

If I were to be elected treasurer, pursuing the satisfaction of members would be my main aim and this would be done by ensuring there is a tightly knit committee of financial and logistical stability. My love and dedication for the sport would pass on to my role as treasurer.

As a first year, my abilities may be doubted, but my experience as a maths tutor override this scrutinisation as it has made me very organised and hard working for any challenging tasks presented to me. Having played a role in organising a music festival that houses over 20,000 and included many high-profile celebrities, I have learnt the importance of a close focus on budgeting and allocating finances in stressful and high-pressure situations, and I am to implement these skills in my role as treasurer.

Although Snowsports is so much more than just a committee, the financial aspect needs to be confidently maintained by a diligent treasurer on order to function as more than just a small organisation and blossom into something greater.
