As a motivated and dedicated student, I am running for treasurer of the Singaporean Society for a variety of reasons.

To begin, I gained experience as a junior committee member in order to effectively manage the society's finances. This includes experience in budgeting, record-keeping, and financial accountability. These skills will be essential in managing the society's funds and ensuring that all financial transactions are transparent and necessary.

Second, I am dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of the Singaporean Society's activities and programmes. The society is vital in cultivating a sense of community and camaraderie among Singaporeans at UCL. I will work hard to ensure that the events and initiatives of the society are well funded. Working with other members of the society's executive committee to develop sound financial plans, as well as managing our income with the director of sponsorship.

Finally, I am deeply committed to contributing to the overall success of society. I am confident that my dedication and hard work will assist the society in meeting its goals and objectives. As treasurer, I will work to balance the financial needs of the society. In addition, I will work to develop long-term financial strategies that will allow the society to remain financially stable and successful in the foreseeable future.

If elected, I pledge to work tirelessly to ensure that the society's finances are effectively managed.

SingSoc to me is a reflection of the warmth of our identity - the comfort of local food and gatherings, the kiasu-ism of hunting down the cheapest ‘per 100g’ price tag and the loudest karaoke of ‘Home’ at any opportune moment. As I look back on my time in London thus far, I reflect on the immense contribution that SingSoc has had in my adjustment into university life, and that even before leaving home, my wide-eyed freshie self had already felt at home. This is what motivates me to run - the desire not to simply sit back and benefit from SingSoc’s social network and support systems, but to reciprocate and actively contribute back to this very community.

I am running for Treasurer because of my enjoyment of handling the technical and logistical aspects of events. Having been entrusted with administrative leadership roles from the get-go, organisation and the meticulous planning that backs every programme is something I pride myself on, in addition to the simple drive to get things done.

As Treasurer, I aim to create an optimised work process in handling finances, claiming and budgeting to streamline events, being the reliable backbone to benefit the wider community. I would also like to propose initiatives utilising our existing network, from academic help systems to de-stressing the great London house-hunt.

In all seriousness, my hope is to support this society with as much of the sincerity that I was enveloped with, and it would be an honour to have your support too! :")
