Hi! I'm Kit and I'm a second year English student. I've loved being the Shakespeare Company president this past year, and hope to be your welfare officer.

When myself and the rest of shakesoc's founding committee were developing the concept for the society, we wanted the focus to be on discussion, collaborative efforts, and approaching Shakespeare on equal footing. I value these things a lot as a theatre-maker and student, and that’s why I want to take on this role; to make sure all our members are happy and healthy. Amongst other things, I will make a lot of cake and give a lot of compliments.

My presidency of shakesoc, and my committee roles in Drama society this year and last have been really enjoyable. As president, I’ve run the society’s social media, run playwatches and forums, liaised with other societies, and coordinated our three productions. I also co-directed our production of King Lear. In Drama society, I’ve produced, directed, written, and acted in multiple showcases and shows. Particularly relevantly, my role in this year’s Pride showcase was as the welfare-focused producer, and I found that especially rewarding. Due to my experience in nearly every corner of theatre, I have a broad perspective and know what productions need in terms of welfare.

I believe Shakespeare needs to be and gives itself to being accessible and to prompting creativity. I hope to talk about Shakespeare for another great year, and to make the environment as stress-free as possible!
