Salsa Society: Communications Officer

After joining Salsa Society this term, I quickly fell in love with the dance, music, and atmosphere, and I would love to be more involved in the upcoming years to help share this wonderful dance style with more of the UCL community. I hope to do this by contributing to society admin with what I consider to be my strongest skill set, written communication and organization.

I believe that I make a strong candidate for Communications Officer as I have previously held a similar position as Secretarial Officer of a theatre troupe, in which my responsibilities also included communicating with the group about goings-on and important information in a pleasant, informative, and succinct manner. I excel in written communication and have experience with graphic design, which will help me create eye-catching and communicative graphics for Salsa Soc's social media. 

In short, I'm very responsive, organized, and I love writing, and I would do my best to make Salsa Soc's written communications as engaging and helpful as possible. I am very grateful for the warmth and encouragement extended to all society members by the current committee and aim to continue that for new and returning members. 

Hi! My name is Eve, I am a Medical Student, and I would like to be your next Communications Officer. Salsa Society has given so much to me over the past two years, and it is now time I give something back.

Communication is crucial in the smooth running and coordination of such a broad and exciting Society, as well as promoting inclusiveness for all – everyone deserves to hear about Salsa Society! Salsa Society is so much more than just dancing; it is the dedicated committee members that make it so special, and I would love to contribute to this.

Having studied English Literature A-level and Art GCSE, I believe I have the communication and graphics skills required to create eye-catching posts about our wonderful events. I would ensure that all communications are sent out promptly, with clarity and would be very quick to respond to any queries; my phone is never far from reach!

As a passionate member of the salsa community, I would love the opportunity to regularly meet with the committee to hear about all our brilliant upcoming activities and be able to tell you all about them!
