I am dedicated to ensuring that every medical student is able to derive the most from their time at Medical School. I want to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation, intellectual curiosity, and ongoing personal growth for every student within RUMS.
With a keen eye for detail, and a deeper understanding of the diverse issues that confront medical students at present, I am confident in my ability to represent varied opinions and interests of our student body effectively and with unwavering commitment.
As your Preclinical Academic VP I would strive to:
- Strengthen the communication of student input and respective staff responses by streamlining feedback mechanisms.
- Continue to advocate for exam feedback that aligns with the areas students believe they would derive the most benefit.
- Re-initiate a centralised document to promote research and supra-curricular opportunities available to all.
- Restructure and update the wonderful Treasure Trove, to ensure resources are current and easy to both submit and access.
- Enhance collaboration with RUMS Societies and Welfare to facilitate individuals’ access so that all can benefit from the tutorials, mentorship and RUMS families. I would work with these groups to reduce barriers to participation and increase awareness of opportunities available.
- Launch academic advisory panels where senior students can share their experiences and insights with younger students.

From running tutorials with Surgical Society and acting as a mentor in Target Medicine, I’ve always been determined to understand and improve the educational experiences of those around me. Being your Academic VP will allow me to continue my passion on a much broader scale, supporting preclinical students and actively dismantle academic stress and issues at UCLMS.
Whilst being an academic rep for 2 years, I’ve seen first-hand how the feedback we provide to the faculty and our collective resolve can bring about change and so improve not only our educational experience but more importantly, those of future years.
As your Academic VP, I would:
- Increase collaboration with academic medic societies - help organising conferences, additional RUMS funding and delivering practice CPSAs
- Ensure stronger student representation on key committees for assessment feedback, curriculum review, sustainability and EDI
- Work closely with RUMS Welfare and Medics4Medics to address academic related stress
- Push for more personalised assessment feedback in meetings with faculty
- Set up a RUMS Academic Skills Week to provide advice from UCLMS graduates, research opportunities and developing your CV
- Better support freshers to make the transition from school into academic life at UCLMS
P.S. Beyond the subtleties of my manifesto above, I hope my principle aim to empower and foster collaboration resonates with everyone, to help me form a friendly and fulfilling academic community at RUMS :)
