Rugby Club (Women's): Treasurer

Hi everyone, my name is Mira and I would like the chance to be your Treasurer for next year. I study Mathematics and am looking at a career in finance, so if I know anything, it is numbers and excel spreadsheets. However, unlike the stereotype, I believe I have the people skills to show what a great opportunity it is for any company to sponsor us (as we just so happen to be one of the best UCL societies). I would love to get us a sponsorship for next year, so we have a bit more leeway in the budget department, and maybe even get a few free gifts! I have a couple great ideas in term of companies I would like to contact, which will hopefully love to work with us. Thanks for your time and I look forward us being a very well off club!

I'm standing for the position of treasurer, because I believe it is the best way I can support the team, making the most use of my current skill set. Having worked for an accountancy firm during my gap year, I have lots of experience using spreadsheets, recording incomes and outgoings, and communicating this information with others.

I really look forward to the prospect of working as part of a team with the rest of the committee, helping the squad to continue to grow and develop next season. I see this role as a great opportunity for me to be able to give back to such an incredibly supportive and welcoming team, that has made my first year at uni a truly fantastic experience!
