Being away from Hong Kong during its times of change in my high school where no other Hong Kongers were present has (ironically) evoked my sense of identity and a passion to contribute to the city I call home, which I hope to actualize through being the Vice President of UCL PASS.

This Society has been a home away from home for many Hong Kong students and I wish to strengthen the bond of this community by further promoting its internal cohesion as well as inclusiveness, while also providing the opportunity for our members to bond with members from other UK universities’ PASS by maintaining a positive relationship with them. Moreover, by overseeing all its subdivisions, I am confident that I can help the Society deliver a better experience for its members.

As part of the PASS subcommittees (Public Affairs), I have attended external events including Exeter Forum and Birmingham Public Speaking Competition, where I was able to demonstrate and further improve my public speakings skills which I have developed since primary school by attending several public speaking competitions and speech festivals in Cantonese, English and Mandarin. These events, along with being the group leader in Amazing Raise, enabled me to network with PASS members from universities in other parts of the UK while I was also able to work as a team with both friends and new acquaintances. I have also actively contributed ideas and perspectives to the monthly topical digest.
