Pokémon Society: Arts Officer

Hi everyone, I’m Selina and I’m running for PokeSoc's Arts Officer! Being a part of PokeSoc since first year, I’ve genuinely enjoyed the community here where everyone is enthusiastic about Pokemon, be it TCG, console games, unite, or just the franchise in general. This is why I want to contribute to making PokeSoc an even better place!

I believe I have the skills required for this role. I am proficient in using graphics design/editing software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva), so I am capable of producing high-quality graphics and designs for PokeSoc. I've had previous work experience related to this, for instance, I have helped a company design their posters and Instagram posts.

As your Arts Officer, I aim to improve the Society’s branding. First, I hope to build social media presence by introducing a consistent colour scheme/theme for our Instagram posts, or through implementing a “continuous” feed where a design spans several posts. Furthermore, if the committee decides to make more merch, I will create designs and maybe an alternative PokeSoc logo for the merch. 

In the past two years, I really enjoyed all the arts and crafts socials (I absolutely loved spamming lapras onto my designs). Therefore, if I am elected, I will consider organising new art activities, such as crocheting and t-shirt painting.

All in all, I think I am suitable for the role, and it'd be my pleasure to be your Arts Officer next year!
