Pakistan Society: Events Officer

As a current first year representative, I believe the Pakistan soceity plays an effective role in bringing together the people and culture of Pakistan. Being an international student, it has been quite hard to adjust to the new surroundings. However, the Pakistan soceity has given me a ground and free space to make friends and remain close to my roots. Whether it was the the Gol gappa social or the games night, the memories I made would last lifetime. I want to provide new incoming students the same platform by having even better events in the upcoming year. This year, the Pakistan soceity has held a tremendous number of events with amazing turnouts. Next year, as the Events officer I would want to continue the same legacy and involve more events such as panel talks, debates, ramadan iftaris and Pakistani food fairs. 

I have past experience in the field of leadership as the A level President of the Mathematics Society as well as leading several projects such as Hum clothing (a sustainable, fashion brand) hence such leadership roles would not be new to me.  

The events this academic year inculcated a vast variety of different festivities from dawaat to khushamadeed. It was these events that upheld and reminded me of gatherings at home and provided me a break from the hectic routine at university. The leadership abilities and determination of all committee members has further propelled me to apply for this post.
