My name's Elizabeth, I'm a second year and play for the 6s! Netball is one of my favourite parts of being at UCL as it is so important to have a social outlet outside of studying to help let out some steam! I have made many amazing friendships over the last 2 years and love that netball can be a safe and uplifting space. Therefore, I would love to become Welfare Officer because I really value how important this club can be for our wellbeing and I want to make sure that it stays that way:). I loveee to chat to people and I hope that I can be a friendly face that people would feel comfortable to reach out to! In the role, I would want to raise money for mental health charities such as MIND and also try get involved with women empowerment charities such as the Female Lead. It is also very important to lend a hand to our local community so I would like to coordinate volunteering at food banks & soup kitchens in the area. I would also organise some smaller welfare events such as puppy yoga!

Sarah Cooper

Hello! I'm Sarah and I'm in my first year of UCNC.

I'd love to have the chance to be your Welfare sec next year.

The supportive and welcoming environment at UCNC was really lovely and helped me in feeling settled when I first joined the club and I would do my best to continue to foster this environment next year. I would organise a welfare event early on in the season so people have the chance to meet everyone early, and get settled into the club right away. My idea so far is an open water swim or a yoga session!  I would also continue to organise events throughout the year, making sure that we all have the chance to get involved. I am looking forward to getting involved in volunteering, we could possibly contact local primary schools and arrange to run netball sessions for the kids. I'm also excited to choose a charity for the club to support such as Beat or Mind.

As Welfare sec, I would also do my best to be a friendly face around the club that you can come and chat to whenever and be able to help you get support if needed.

Thanks for reading :)

Hey I'm Katie and I played with the 2nds this year and I'd love for your nomination to be welfare sec this year! I believe that the welfare of our members should be of the highest importance in the club. I try to be a friendly and approachable person, keen to help others in any way I can. As welfare officer I would hope to create a happy and inclusive environment within the club, ensuring it's well known that I am always there if any members are in need of advice or support.

I also love the idea of getting the club involved in charity work. As a female-dominated sport I would hope to incorporate this into my choice of charity/volunteering events. For example, getting involved in the Race for Life.

I hope that my enthusiasm for the sport and above all my care for others would make me a suitable candidate for this role!
