Marxist Society: President

Hi, I’m Matthew, a Master’s student studying Neuroscience. I’m excited to be standing for President for the Marxist Society -  capitalism’s contradictions and crises are more apparent now than ever, so if you want a place to discuss, learn and get involved with working towards a freer, more just society for all, come along to one of our events!

So far this year, I have already helped run talks and society events and have worked closely alongside the current committee members to organise society events and interventions.

As President, I hope to continue to grow the society, increase the frequency of speaker and discussion events and bring people together with more socials, while working to make society events more inclusive, open and engaging for those who want to learn more about Marxism and get involved with our interventions. I hope to encourage members to share ideas on how we can improve - I will ensure that any interpersonal problems within the society are dealt with in both a professional and empathetic manner and will strive to manage any concerns you may have with utmost care and confidentiality.
