Siddarth Anand Nayar

Hi, my name is Siddarth and I am from Dubai. I will be running for the position of Sports Officer for the 23/24 academic year. Ideally, a sports officer must have proficient skills in organizing and playing sports. I have been on the Cricket, Badminton and Athletics Teams for my school, and I was in charge of handling inter house sporting events. Additionally, I think sports should not only be about being competitive but also about having fun, thus I assure everyone a round of drinks on me after every sporting event hosted if I am in charge.

I also have a few ideas which could be implemented in the following year. I have been a fan of IPL since its inauguration (Big up RCB), and I would like there to be a platform for every member of the society to watch the matches of the tournament as a big group. Same goes for other tournaments like the premier league and ISL. Another idea is to have socials more often that involve activities that are more exercise oriented, such as ping pong, darts and bowling.

If elected, I hope to be as capable as this year's sports officer and conduct as many events as possible.

Armaan Jacob

I am excited to stand for the position of Sports Secretary for the Malayali Society. As someone who has a genuine passion for sports, I am committed to promoting and encouraging participation in sports among members of the society. As captain of the Wokingham Cricket Club, the school Handball and Basketball teams, I honed my ability to lead and communicate effectively in fast-paced environments. This led to my being elected as House Captain by 120 out of 150 peers and teachers, a position that included a role in the student council. Over the past year, I have actively participated in the society's football team and played in all the games. I am proud to say that I represented the University at the Warwick Malayali Tournament, which was a great experience and a testament to my love for the sport.

As Sports Secretary, I will work tirelessly to ensure that sports activities are planned, organized and executed efficiently, effectively and safely. I will strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to participate, regardless of their skill level or previous experience. Additionally, I will focus on fostering healthy competition and sportsmanship, as well as promoting physical fitness and well-being among the society members. I am confident that I have the necessary skills and experience to excel in this role and I am excited to contribute to the Malayali Society in a meaningful way.
