Vaidehi Kadhane

Namaste! My name is Vaidehi and I am a first year Physics student applying to be Mallu society’s new Marketing Secretary.

Sales is an extremely significant part of the successful running of society events. It is a role which needs a reliable person who is able to connect with a range of people. Previous experience in starting up a Covid-19 badge has enabled me to produce eye-catching promotional material including flyers and posters.

I also am a great team player allowing me to work close with the treasurer to ensure financial targets are met. You can count on me to get the job done.  I will strive to make sure the events and socials planned are better than ever before, and I believe Marketing is the key to being able to do this.

Overall, I feel that I can bring out the success of each event and with an instagram following of over 1.3k I believe I am competent enough to promote events over social media to ensure all events sell out! I hopefully look forward to being a member of Mallu society and bringing out the best desi events of the year. Vote me in!

Harshiini Sridhar

Hi everyone! I'm Harshiini, and I am applying for Malayali Society's Marketing Secretary.

I am a very active person on social media, and love to spend time coordinating with various people to make interesting content (trust, it's very amusing!)

I also am the Vice President of a charity organisation since 2018, for which I mainly cover the marketing and social side. I am therefore well-versed in creating relevant content to present the information that you want!

I would also love to encourage more people to join the society. Being Tamil myself, I think I missed out on not knowing about what this society has to offer sooner, and I don't want the mistake I made to repeat.

I would love to liaise with other committee members to design engaging content that encourages more people to come to events and be a part of this amazing society. Content should be insightful, but also relatable and humorous, and I have many ideas on how we can grow the community through reels, posts and stories.

I mainly want to bring more representation into the society, and help it grow bigger by encouraging a wide range of people to join through successful marketing campaigns and content. I think Malayali Society has a very warm and welcoming committee and group of people, and I would love to be a bigger part of this, just as you should be too!

And I'll leave my manifesto there, I hope to see you guys soon at the next event!

- Harshiini :)

Saket Chadalavada

After thoroughly enjoying my (short)time with Malayali Society, where the vibes are good and the jokes are entertaining, applying for Marketing Secretary with my accomplished skillset seems to be the next logical step.

I have been a Brand Ambassador for Saffery Champness, promoting BAME applicants through social media use. I created IG, Snapchat and LinkedIn posts that garnered 300 impressions each.

In addition, as the current VP of Outreach for UCL FinTech Society, running for President, I am poised to bring a level of professional organisation that will enhance the society's expansion.

Finally, running my own business: Jewellery4U, required an innovative marketing campaign to maintain over £110,000 in sales.

Next year, I endeavour to:

  • Firstly, increase member turnout to events by maintaining consistency and delivering high-quality posts that excite our members.
  • Leverage my existing network and skills to not only reach out to all London unis but also attract influential Malayalees. I'll find the malyali (Avi) to come to our events.
  • Be dependable and LISTEN to my team and committee to ensure clear understanding of the direction Malayali society is taking.

I am a staunch propagator of “Work Smarter, Not Harder” and will use AI, Canva, and Photoshop to achieve high-quality posts for Malayali Soc. If this is what you want from the Marketing Secretary, then please vote for me.
