Live Music Society: Volunteering and Welfare Officer

I’d be thrilled to be Live Music Society’s Volunteering and Welfare Officer and help lead one of UCL’s most vibrant societies.

I have enjoyed being part of the Live Music community by going to many gigs and socials, particularly the jams where I could perform and improvise with new people. Further, being Freshers’ Representative this year has given me the chance to see the society from the inside, and help people navigate the endless opportunities that this society has to offer.

I would like to lead and encourage even more people to get involved and help them feel like they are a part of the musical community; being part of the 2023-24 committee would allow me to continue to share my passion with a wide community of musicians.

My leadership and musical experiences would be invaluable to the role; as leader of my school’s Music Society I founded a Songwriting club and organised a few concerts with my peers, also performing onstage with my band as the singer and co-guitarist. At UCL I’ve also had the opportunity to perform as a singer in Hindu Society’s show ‘Rangeela’. My experience both organising and performing in concerts has given me insights into what the performers need, and how to run and organise a show effectively too. Alongside my leadership skills, I have also been able to hone my time management skills.

I am excited to continue learning from my fellow musicians through Live Music Society and I hope to see you as Volunteering and Welfare Officer soon!
