Maddie Small

Hi everyone! I’m Maddie and I study Politics, Sociology and Eastern European Studies.

As a non-law student hoping to pursue a future career in law, getting involved in the Law For All Society is something I am very excited about. I’m running for the role of Welfare and Volunteering Officer as I would love to help foster a welcoming space within the society as an approachable person and because I am passionate about volunteering.

I have several years of experience volunteering, including at food banks, refugee support organisations, and on a week long service trip to Tanzania. I was also the Volunteering Officer and Outreach Director for UCL’s United Nations Association over the past two years. These experiences have not only been rewarding, but have also given me the skills necessary to be a compotent and reliable Welfare and Volunteering Officer for the Law For All Society. If elected, I plan to organise various events with charities and organisations to further expand opportunities. Not only will these volunteering events be personally rewarding, but they will also develop teamwork, communication, and project management skills, all of which are essential for a future career in law.

I’m really excited to (hopefully) be your Welfare and Volunteering Officer! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, I’m always open :)

Lara Karabulut

I am applying for the role of welfare and volunteer officer for the law for all society because I would like to contribute to maintaining and enhancing inclusion, not only within the society but the wider student population. I have previous leadership experience as a senior prefect within the Head Girl Team at my Sixth Form in which communication and teamwork was of central importance. As part of my role, I took the initiative in forming a collaborative partnership with a local charity called the Baytree Centre, who promote social inclusion for refugee women and girls. Through this I initiated a project throughout my school to provide care packages for the women and girls at the centre; establishing a foundation to inspire similar projects in the lower school. I hope to expand my skills to encourage volunteering opportunities within the society that aim to make a difference and benefit students. To me, inclusion is about bringing people together to act as a community. Therefore, I want to aim to make the law for all society itself a central point for all students regardless of their degree, making law more readily accessible for anyone to get in to.

Harry I Zain-Prosser

Hi, my name is Harry Zain-Prosser. I am currently a second year history student running for the role of Welfare and Volunteering Officer.

Why me?

- I have previous experience in volunteering. When I was in 6th form I was a mentor for younger students. Additionally, I volunteered to be a maths tutor helping younger students to develop their numerical skills.

- I believe that people’s physical and mental wellbeing is extremely important. Subsequently, I would want to maintain this to the highest standard.

What will I do if I am elected?

- be a point of contact for any issues or troubles that LFA members are facing.

- aim to preserve LFA’s inclusive and supportive environment ensuring it is free from any forms of discrimination.

- liaise with organisations and charities, increasing the society’s network and potential activities, for example Pro Bono opportunities.
