Knitting Society: Equipment Officer

Hi everyone! I joined KnitSoc at the beginning of this academic year, having finally taken the plunge to learn a new craft. A few months later, I’m standing because I would love the opportunity to contribute and give back to the incredibly welcoming community who taught me how to knit and crochet! I’ve absolutely loved meeting people who are just as passionate about yarn as I am. I believe I’m the right person for the Equipment Officer role because I’m extremely organised with everything that isn’t academics – arranging, managing, and adding to my own ever-growing yarn stash is my new favourite method of procrastination. I can issue out materials and equipment pronto for anyone who needs it, and I’m also excited to be working with other committee members – for example with the Treasurer to see what needs purchasing next.

I love to be helpful and I’m always happy to talk about ongoing projects with people, asking about what type of yarn they’re using and getting recommendations of favourite brands and colours. I’ve heard rumours of a very chaotic society storage locker – joining the committee would not only be an amazing chance for me to participate in leadership, but to witness the legendary chaos of the locker with my own two eyes.
