Candidates

Noah W Chander

Acting as a first-year representative for investment society, I have worked closely shadowing VPs of the society in a large number of roles and have gained a strong understanding of how the society works and how I can best use my skills within it.

I have a bunch of ideas for improving marketing not only with how UCLIS is perceived but also how it interacts and collaborates with the student union - I think I have a ton to offer here which could propel the society forward and reach a lot more people.

Meeting with the School of Management to discuss our flagship event: the UCL Investment Conference also honed my ideas for improving marketing w.r.t. the conference and making it the best it possibly can be.

Finally, this is getting pretty long so i'll just say one more thing. I naturally love working in teams and thinking on my feet. Somehow, at the UCL Finance Conference, I got up in front a massive room of people to give a stock pitch which I literally just researched with another FYR and my personal idol and saviour the UCLIS VP for outreach: Samuel 'big dog' Vandak. I was robbed of victory by a LSE infiltrator who actually turned out to be a great guy but basically learned it's all about putting yourself out there when you think you have something to offer! That's the reason i'm applying for this. Vote for me if you're into that kinda thing.

Rueben Yu

As a passionate and dedicated member of the Investment Society, I have seen firsthand how this community can help individuals achieve their goals and grow their passion for finance and investment. I am committed to continuing this mission as your Vice President.

As a finance and investment enthusiast, I am eager to share my knowledge and experience with others. I believe that the Investment Society can play a crucial role in educating members on the latest trends and best practices in the industry. As Vice President, I will strive to create engaging and informative events and resources that inspire members to explore new ideas and develop their skills.

I am committed to creating a supportive and inclusive community within the Investment Society. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in finance and investment, regardless of their background or experience. I will work hard to ensure that all members feel welcome and supported in the society, and that our initiatives cater to a diverse range of interests and skill levels.

In conclusion, I am passionate about finance and investment, dedicated to leadership, and committed to creating a supportive and inclusive community within the Investment Society. I believe that my skills and experience make me the ideal candidate for Vice President, and I am eager to work with the team to continue building an exceptional society that empowers its members to achieve their goals.

Aakanksha Som

My name is Aakanksha and I believe that I would be a suitable candidate for this role. Having worked as both a data analyst (1 year) and a social media coordinator (3+ years), I strongly believe that I have the right experience to thrive in this position. These roles refined my analytical and leadership skills which will aid me in this role. My vision for UCLIS is as follows:

1) Data-driven decisions: measuring the success of our marketing decisions to determine what is and isn't working for the society. Through analysing the data of attendees to events and the number of new freshers securing UCLIS memberships, I can track the effectiveness of marketing strategies and adjust accordingly, which is optimal for future events and increasing the society's exposure

2) Adaptation: keeping up with the latest marketing trends, starting by creating TikTok and Twitter accounts for the society, in order to increase social media engagement through weekly posts. Adapting to new trends and technologies will allow the society to be at the forefront of marketing innovation

3) Collaboration: the success of the team relies on their ability to discuss their thoughts with one another. I will ensure that I constantly communicate with other committee members to ensure that marketing initiatives are aligned with the society's overall mission and vision

As the VP of Marketing, I will commit to delivering the highest quality marketing strategies that promote the society to a broad audience.
