I am running as Vice President as I believe myself to be able to give the president not only the support they need, but also represent the members needs and wishes to the rest of the comity. This includes ensuring that the next Karneval will be in London and will also be during Karneval season. I am German myself so I hold great value in German tradition and being able to share this with the rest of the members. Furthermore I want to ensure we can share this events with other university German societies as this is great for networking, but also I love sharing a beer with more Germans. I am extremely motivated to give my all for this position and represent the society as best as I can to ensure everyone has the best experience. I have been student representative of my cohort and a long member of the German society so I believe myself to be more than qualified for this position. It would be lovely to get your vote and trust. Ich bedanke mich an allen die mir ihre Wal schenken würden.

The UCL German Society has without doubt been the society that has had the greatest impact on my university life. As I walked nonchalantly through campus to attend the society fair in October 2019, the German tricolour caught my eye. Nestled between badminton and a baking club, I met the UCL German Soc and was immediately greeted by friendly faces. They welcomed me with open arms.

I joined in and never missed Stammtisch back when it was at Herman Ze German. I took a role in the play during Second Year along with all the help from wonderful people that made COVID era exciting. I never would have thought that at a British university, it would be a German society that made my university experience so eventful.

It has been an upmost pleasure to serve as the Director of Sponsorship this year, which has helped me develop the necessary skills for the role as Treasurer. I deeply understand the society, how it functions and the improvements that need to be considered. I also have previous experience as Treasurer in the EEL society and hold the necessary skills for this role. I have seen the society grow, change, and mould and I still have many ideas and projects in mind to allow this society to flourish, including TECHNO nights and a German magazine.

It is almost 4 years since I first laid eyes on the German society and the butterfly effect that this society has had on my university life gives me so much passion to serve and inspire the next cohort of UCL students next year.
