Miriam Gordon

Hi Food Society! It’s Miriam Gordon, and I am running to be your president next year. As your marketing and publicity officer, I have:

  • organised collaborations with businesses to get food society members exclusive discounts
  • organised collaborations with other societies such as bubble tea society to do food events such as a Chinatown food crawl
  • created and led new events such as the London bagel crawl where a group of approximately 25 people went to East London to try some of London’s best bagels
  • consistently attended committee meetings and as many events as I could!

As your president, I hope to:

  • fulfil your wishes regarding a cooking event! Even since the Welcome fair, we’ve been asked, 'do you do cooking events?’ Although these are a bit of a logistical challenge, I hope to use the organisational skills that I’ve developed this year to do a cooking event
  • Vary the timing of our events a bit more - many have expressed that they have classes when we do our weekday daytime events, so balancing them with weekend/evening events is something I hope to do to make sure everyone has a chance to come
  • Continue what I’ve done this year and support collaborations with other societies and businesses to make sure we can try more of London’s amazing food scene

I’ve loved being on the food society committee this year and I hope you will have me again next year.
