Josephine Haligah

Over the years, I have been involved in numerous projects, working in different sectors, such as; charity, start-ups, investment management and other academic & corporate challenges. Some of these projects entailed pitching for £10,000 in funding; these experiences have developed my understanding of the sponsorship ecosystem and the importance of establishing connections and external partnerships .I am currently Head of Sponsorship and External Relations for the ESG Society. I have utilised my network to provide guest speakers at our events and encourage the sponsorship team to do the same. Together, we, the sponsorship team aim to contribute to the delivery of insightful and beneficial events by inviting guests and establishing partnerships; we are now using the society's achievements in this academic year to strengthen and establish new partnerships & sponsorships. I want continual support and to lead the team to help UCL ESG Society gain funding and closer relationships with our supporters and sponsors. UCL ESG will be able to run more events that attract more students passionate about ESG with content more relevant to their particular interests and potential career goals and development. We are an inclusive and multifaceted society that aims to spread awareness about the various sectors of ESG and how our members can learn about their various career paths.

As a passionate advocate for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, I am excited to apply for the position of Head of Sponsorship for the UCL ESG society. As the first-year representative of the sponsorship and outreach department, I learned a great deal about the importance of building relationships with like-minded organizations and individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the world.

In the past few months, I attended various ESG events held by the society, including the spring week panel and ESG finance workshop. Through these experiences, I gained invaluable insights into the world of ESG and the role that the UCL ESG society can play in driving positive change.

If selected for this role, I would focus on continuing to build strong relationships with sponsors, speakers and other organizations that share our values and mission in the coming tenure. I believe that sponsorship is not just about financial support, but also about creating meaningful partnerships that can help drive change. In addition, I would work closely with the rest of the ESG society to create engaging events and workshops that inspire and educate incoming students about the importance of ESG.
