In a world where the only constant is change, I believe that those who adapt best to changing circumstances triumph, be it within their local communities or on a global scale. I have always been captivated by the multilayered and multilateral complexities of climate change. The need for global cooperation, yet the inability of nations to liaise over this matter of common importance reinforces the need for unity and collaboration within the fragmented world that we live in. This UCL society in itself embodies the much-needed community collaboration to address and mitigate the consequences of anthropogenic climate on our future environment, living situations and workplaces.
I am running for Head of Events of the ESG society because I genuinely believe that I can contribute to positive change. Being bilingual and having an interest in language learning has meant that I have always enjoyed speaking to different people. As Chief Editor of my school's newspaper, I have enhanced my leadership skills, having to actively organize meetings with a plethora of individuals. Moreover, leading an environmental sustainability group has honed my communication skills, in a field which I am passionate about.
As Head of Events, I am looking to use the transferrable skills which I have acquired, as well as my networking abilities to arrange events and opportunities for all, with the ultimate goal of cultivating an open-minded community of future leaders.
Hello, my name is Hanna and I'm running for the Head of Events position at the ESG Society. I am currently a first-year student of BSc Management Science. As a FYR at the ESG Society I got a chance to observe, participate and work closely with the President and Senior Committee of our society. In my final year of IB I organized a SG MUN conference for over 100 students and directed a budget of 25000 PLN, the successfulness of which proved my time-management, delegating and communication skills. have prepared me with the critical, analytical and strategic thinking that is well desired in any industry. I want to share this passion with other UCL students.
In the following terms as the Head of Events, I wish to reach out to more sponsors and broaden the network of the ESG society. Finally, I have energy and passion to serve the Society. As the treasury of the committee, I will reach out to speakers and secure venues to bring in more affordable events. Be it panel speakers or case competitions, for students interested in ESG to continuously improve and hone their abilities to impact the world even after they leave UCL. Additionally, I would organise more social events where members would intermingle across project teams, to improve the cohesiveness and dynamic of ESG as a society.
Hi everyone! I am Linda, currently a second-year History, Politics, and Economics student and the Event Executive of the ESG society. If you have participated in any of our events this year, I am pretty sure that you have seen me there at least once.
During my first stint as Event Executive, I have honed my skills as a flexible, effective, and reliable member of the society. From organizing collaborations and reaching out to external resources, to hosting events, I am proud to have supported almost all of our events and brought them to life. Being part of this growing community and working with other talented individuals has been a highlight of my past year, and I am eager to continue this journey and put myself forward to execute more engaging events.
For next year, I plan to organize academic discussion panels featuring researchers and professors, enabling students to delve deeper into how ESG, the most hotly debated topic, is integrated into their studies and providing personalized advice via networking opportunities. I will also gather suggestions and ideas from the community more frequently so as to better organize events based on public interest.
With my valuable experience as a crucial player in the ESG society, I am confident that I can be someone who brings inspiration and lays stepping stones for your journey to achieving goals in the upcoming year!
