Electronic Music Society: Welfare Officer

Having joined this society at the beginning of first year and taking on the role of freshers rep, I would be super excited by the prospect of having a more active role going into next year!

The array of talent in our society is insane and to build on this further, I would really love to give underrepresented persons and those who perhaps doubt their capabilities a chance to showcase their talent and immerse themselves in everything UCL's electronic music scene has to offer. The prospect of opening up your music to others may be daunting and having felt exactly this myself I would work incredibly hard to try and create an environment in which anyone feels comfortable and confident enough to put themselves forward for events.

To foster a more inclusive environment, my priorities would be to increase the amount of female-run DJ lessons, encourage people to send in their mixes for Phineas, regardless of experience, as well as offering more opportunities for members of our society to generally get together and talk all things electronic music.

I would love to make this society even tighter-knit than it already is, and would be incredibly excited to encourage a new wave of talent into our society next year.
