Czech and Slovak Society: Treasurer

I would love to be the treasurer of the UCL Czech & Slovak Society because I want to be more involved with its internal decision-making and help shape the direction where the society is headed. Moreover, I am interested in finance and want to gain valuable skills from this experience. 

I would aim to uphold current sponsorships/partnerships and arrange new ones, expanding on my negotiation and communication skills from debate, to allow for a greater variety of events. Further, I would systematically and dutifully look over the society's budget and other financial matters regarding society's expenditures and funding.

In addition, the social aspect of being a part of such a huge university was difficult for me at first, but joining the Czech & Slovak Society was one of the things that made it so much easier due to the natural affinity that I felt with the fellow Czech and Slovaks. It instantly felt like home. That is also why I would like to be more involved with the society than being a bare member and to welcome future members from my position with the same warmth as I was.
