I am running for President of the Women’s Cricket Club to share my passion for the sport. Cricket has been particularly meaningful for me because it has allowed me to play competitively again after an injury and rediscover my passion for sports. I am also keen to spread the club's supportive atmosphere, which I have been lucky to experience.
I will achieve change by seeking members’ opinions and enacting their ideas. Specifically, I aim to actively recruit members to join our community using personal and club networks, encouraging new members to attend social events, and promoting the annual tour. This is something that I already love doing, and I feel confident in my ability to do well. Another goal is to improve the club’s cricket level by facilitating a smoother transition from softball to hardball and ensuring hardball training sessions are built on a progressive programme. I will implement these changes by utilising my experience alongside the support of committee members and coaches I have trained with this year.
I understand that the role of president involves facing numerous challenges and unwavering commitment, which I am eager to take on. As a young club, UCLWCC has significant growth and evolution potential. I am dedicated to contributing to this by implementing positive changes and cultivating a culture of inclusivity where every member feels valued.
