I'm excited to submit my nomination to the position of VP of Client Projects. I feel I've been well-prepared for this position by my previous work as a project manager for the Deep Tech Jobs' client project. I was given the chance to greatly improve my interpersonal and managerial abilities, and I now feel capable of taking on more responsibilities.

The opportunity to obtain professional consulting experience is one of the key reasons I'm enthusiastic about this position. My time  at KPMG in management consulting and managing the Deep Tech Jobs project has provided me with an understanding of clear communication, teamwork, and strategic thinking. I will be capable of leading a group of consultants and work with additional clients to assist them accomplish their goals as the VP of Client Projects. Additionally, I possess a high level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and LinkedIn, having honed my skills through hands-on experience.

This position will allow me to hone my networking and business strategy skills, which greatly excites me. I will be in charge of generating leads, following up with prospective clients, creating presentations, and creating case studies in my capacity as the VP of Client Projects. I am excited to hone these talents in this position because I know they will be crucial throughout my career.

Furthermore, as VP of client projects, I will have the opportunity to work together with a diverse range of individuals and learn from their perspectives.

Hi,

I’m Jiaxin Lu, an incoming third-year History, Politics and Economics student. I’m here running for the Vice President of Client Project.

My main goal if elected is to provide more high-quality projects for students who are interested in consulting. This year, I joined a client project and gained unexpectedly valuable skills. Therefore, I would like to provide consulting projects covering more industries for future members-great opportunities to develop consulting skills in real-life cases and make friends with similar interests.

Thank you :)

Jiaxin

Are you ready to get hands-on experience in consulting with the UCL Consulting Society (UCLCS)? As the VP of Client Projects, I am committed to empowering the UCLCS members with the opportunity to gain real-life consulting experience while helping businesses find solutions to their problems.

Throughout this academic year, I had the fantastic opportunity to participate in two client projects, including one with UCLCS, which helped me to improve my commercial awareness and networking abilities. I look forward to employing these skills to help the UCLCS members gain the same valuable experiences that have been so crucial to my professional development.

If elected, my priorities as VP of Client Projects will include the following (whilst also being open to feedback):

1. Developing an understanding of the industries of interest of the UCLCS members and selecting a broad range of industries (e.g. life sciences, technology, sustainability).

2. Reaching out and connecting to stakeholders from relevant enterprises from the industries selected and sourcing fantastic client projects for the UCLCS members.

3. Promoting the client projects as much as possible to attract a diverse range of students, including those with a particular interest in consulting and those who may not have considered the industry before but possess the potential.

4. Building solid relationships with the partner businesses to ensure a long-standing collaboration and future opportunities for the UCLCS members.

Poppy Isabella Lefroy-Brooks

I am keen to join UCL Consulting Society as Vice President of Client Projects because of the potential to create impact, and the leadership and stakeholder management opportunities within the role.

The possibility to lead the pairing of ambitious talent with high-potential start-ups at such a critical stage would be incredibly rewarding. With experience at 6 and counting start-ups, I have curated an awareness of the current challenges and opportunities faced by SMEs in the UK today, and hope to be able to contribute to creating impact through pairing clients with UCL’s most talented students.

As a natural leader I have enjoyed recently working as the Head of Internal and External relations within UCL M&A Group, and I hope to apply my leadership skills at a society with greater reach by sourcing and overseeing ongoing projects.

My varied experience has allowed me to develop a natural flair for communication in a professional context, having led one-on-one meetings with C-suite clients, and curating pitches valued at £1mln/year. I am keen to utilise this experience to liaise with both potential and ongoing clients at UCL Consulting Society.

Finally, my experience on projects at UCL Consulting Society has exemplified the real possibility for impact that these projects have. In the current financial climate, and with ongoing sustainability pressures, I am keen to join UCL’s only society dedicated to educating and inspiring students in a career in consulting to create impact.
