My name is Aakanksha and I believe that I would be a suitable candidate for this role. Having worked as both a data analyst (1 year) and a social media coordinator (3+ years), I strongly believe that I have the right experience to thrive in this position. These roles refined my analytical and leadership skills which will aid me as treasurer. My vision for Consulting Society is as follows:
1) Long-Term Plan: I will develop a long-term financial plan for the society, outlining our goals and objectives for the next few years. This plan would help us allocate our resources effectively and ensure that we are able to meet our financial commitments. Additionally, it would also allow us to make strategic decisions about how we want to grow as a society.
2) Fiscal Responsibility: As treasurer, I will ensure that the society's funds are managed responsibly. I will develop a budget that is realistic and sustainable, and I will work to make sure that the society does not overspend. This will entail negotiating with sponsors to get the best prices and making sure that all expenses are justified, which I have done previously, as mentioned below.
3) Fundraising: seeking out fundraising opportunities for the society. This will include new sponsors, events, and encouraging members to contribute financially. The more money raised, the more we can do as a society for our members.
As the treasurer, I will commit to delivering a financially stable, sustainable, and successful budget.
My name is Kriti Chatterjee and I am running to become the treasurer for the consulting society. As the Head of project recruitment last year I have gained ample insight into the inner workings of the society and believe that I can truly execute the smooth functioning of ensuring that the consulting society creates an environment where an ecosystem of talented individuals thrive professionally and personally. Here I aim to ensure the financial stability and sustainability of our society.
As the consulting society Treasurer I want to focus on the following areas:
- Financial Management : I will work to create a comprehensive budget that reflects the needs of our society, and ensure that our finances are managed in a way that is both responsible and sustainable.
- Sourcing and Fundraising: I will work to identify potential funding sources, including grants and sponsorships, and develop strategies to secure these funds.
- Support: I will ensure that each resource is devoted to the betterment towards providing support to our members to ensure they succeed professionally and personally.
- Transparency : The finances of the Consulting Society will aim to be open and transparent, by providing regular updates and reports on our financial status, as well as by responding to any questions or concerns that our members may have.
I was the Head of External Relations and Events for the society this year and I’ve collaborated with various corporate partners such as Bain, BCG, EY, OC&C, to deliver events tailored to you, from networking sessions to case studies and application workshops. Since joining the society as a first year representative to my current role, I’ve witnessed how the society has changed and improved to provide a better experience to our members and I wish to carry on this mission as your treasurer. I’m excited to be a part of the core committee to shape the direction of the society and bring it to new heights in the coming year.
My plans as Treasurer:
- Provide full support to the President to plan out the society’s finances and allocate sufficient budget for each event (my experience in organising events has given me the knowledge to do so)
- Work closely and liaise responsibly with the Student Union to process invoices and refunds (my experience in liaising with speakers has provided me excellent communication skills)
- Collaborate with the Head of Sponsorship to source for and draft sponsorship agreements to secure more funds for the society and provide better welfare for our members (my experience as head of events has provided me insight into how to pitch to sponsors)
