Maria Bogdanova

Working part-time as an engineering student while juggling society events allowed me to hone the crucial skill of time management, which is vital for the role of secretary. Written and verbal communication are also strong points of mine, which would make me suited to keeping members informed of meetings, preparing meeting agendas, and generally keeping up proper communications between committee members as required.

I have previous experience working alongside teachers as a Senior Prefect to organise events such as open evenings, parents’ evenings, and the annual inter-school science fair; all of these taught me skills that can be applied to making arrangements for speaker events.

I am applying to this position because I am passionate about consulting and would like to be more involved in ensuring the smooth operation of this society.

In conclusion, I believe that I have the time management, communication skills, and experience with organising events to make a valuable addition to the consulting society in the role of secretary.

Raj Ratnesan

Hello! I’m Raj, a 1st Year Rep at the UCL Consulting Society, and I’m excited to put myself forward for the position of Secretary.

Being part of the Consulting Society has been a satisfying experience. From attending events, socials and late-night chats with members, I’ve interacted multiple times with the Society. However, I feel there is more to achieve, and believe that taking up the role of Secretary will enable me to make a meaningful contribution to the society’s success.

As Secretary of the society, I would hope to bring:

  • Strong Organisation skills- I am detail-oriented and skilled in managing administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, and maintaining accurate records (Check my Linkedin for more info!)
  • A Growth-Mindset- I am committed to working collaboratively with other members of the executive committee to help the society expand its reach, hopefully increasing membership numbers and doubling down on the Mentorship Scheme.
  • Active Listening- As an often-seen representative at events, I have listened and learned from professionals who have come to UCL. I hope to continue doing this, to help improve our society in the best way possible.
  • Awareness of the natural process of failure- I have failed many times and I hope to bring reassurance that it’s okay to fail and that we should maintain commitment no matter how many times we get hit.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you vote for me to be your Secretary!

Mariya Kachwala

Consulting is a dream career for a lot of people and hence, I understand the importance that this society has. Therefore, I believe as a secretary I would aid the important work of the Consulting Society in making the industry more accessible.

The role of a secretary requires really good organisation and communication skills, and I believe I have that.

Being a First Year Representative for the society, I had first hand experience of how the society functions from the inside and how much work goes into setting up events, panels and mentorship schemes. Hence, as a person who truly values this work, I am confident I’ll stay on point and be extremely detail oriented in committee meetings to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Moreover, as a person from a non- business degree, I believe I would also be able to contribute by giving inputs from this lens, in order to have events that answer the questions of where to get started, who to talk to and how to access the correct resources.

Therefore, if you believe I am upto the task of fulfilling this responsibility, please VOTE for me and I can surely say you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you for taking out your time in reading this! I really appreciate it:)
