Alexia Mihaila

My name is Alexia Mihaila, I am a fourth-year Arts & Sciences undergrad and I'm re-running as Blog Editor! As part of Connect.ed since I started Uni and running the Blog for two years now, it has significantly shaped my skills as a writer, researcher, and most importantly editor. As an editor, I built in the past a strong team of writers, guiding them through their independent research. As a former RMP mentee, I know how to bridge the gap between RMP’s and blog’s research! Therefore, I’d love to continue making the blog a staple publication outlet within UCL's academic societies.

I plan to:

* Fortify the blog’s and magazine’s ties with the RMP programme: offering exposure to mentors, mentees, and their projects

* Build an annual online and physical magazine

* Organise workshops led by researchers and academics on research methods, academic writing, and how-to sessions (e.g. how to fund your research as an undergrad/postgrad, how to conduct ethical interviews, etc.)

* Set up a podcast platform following the stories of undergraduate and postgraduate researchers

* Plan collaborations with other societies to increase our exposure

* Create a safe space for ideas to be shared and debated, as well as, ensure smooth communication when delivering an article or having an idea

I know, it’s been a slow ride, but I enjoy working with Connect.ed and I know that having an additional EIC will make my plan of making the Blog a strong research platform viable!
