Mona Kitta

Hi my name is Mona and I am running be your next President!

I am someone who is passionate about Climate Change. I strongly believe in the importance of this society and what it represents. I genuinely believe that it is more important than ever to encourage action as a society that acts in response to the ongoing climate disaster.

Having been Social Sec and Outreach Officer this year, I believe to have gained key insight and understanding on how to run CAS to its full potential. I hope to open doors for UCL students to get more involved in the community. I have many exciting ideas for the future of this society! If elected as president, the two things I want to work on is Climate Action and Climate related education. My take on this would be open-conferences which would be COP-styled in collaboration with other universities : I want this society to become a platform for each and every UCL student to come and share their ideas and approaches on how to better our university, whilst thinking of how to have a positive impact on a global scale.

Ellen I Donald

I am an enthusiastic and determined climate activist, who wants to create change at UCL. I have experience in the Fossil Free Careers campaign, as well as volunteering with Green New Deal Rising, a youth climate group.

I am passionate about taking action against the climate crisis through campaigning, and I have demonstrated through my work on the Fossil Free Careers Campaign this year that I can organise a campaign successfully. This year I have helped organise banner making sessions, and collaborated with others in the campaign to deliver a presentation to the Students Union and a welcome event for new joiners, in addition to making connections with the Staff Climate Action Network, amongst many other things!

I would love to be President to keep the focus of the Climate Action Society on inspiring more students to become engaged in actively pushing for change at UCL. We must continue to hold UCL accountable to its sustainability commitments and push them to become a leader in climate action.

I want the society to be a caring and supportive community where everyone feels welcome, and where debate, discussion and learning is encouraged. If elected as President, I will work on supporting our Fossil Free Careers campaign, ensuring we deliver fun and exciting events and making climate action more inclusive to get more people involved.

I believe that as President, my energy, drive and love for climate action would help us to push for transformative climate action at UCL!
