Cheerleading Club: Treasurer

Hello, my name is Ana and I am a 3rd year studying Economics and Business. I am running for Treasurer of UCL Lightning as I love the club and my goal is to make the club even better than it is today by focusing on inclusivity and creating a safe space for everyone, whilst organising more events and most importantly increased performance opportunities for all our members. 

I have the experience of being year's Sponsorship and Volunteering Secretary. It has been such a rewarding opportunity being able to contribute towards reducing membership costs by securing sponsors and organising volunteering events to give back to the community. In total I have secured £750 and organised 3 volunteering events, including UCL Lightning Helping Children Discover Cheerleading. By organising many volunteering opportunities I have gained knowledge of the procedures in place by Team UCL and the SU for creating new events, meaning I will be able to easily plan and create even more next year. I have also worked closely with this year's treasurer when securing sponsors, gaining valuable insight into the budget.

Whilst studying I also work part-time as a logistics manager, where I have 3+years of experience. I am able to apply these valuable skills to the treasurer position by being able to create budgets, plan for the year, create invoices and contracts and manage the club.

I will put in many hours of hard work as treasurer to improve the club and provide better opportunities for all its members.
