Dorothy C Kwok

Hello everyone,

My name is Dorothy, and I am a penultimate History of Art student at UCL, with a particular interest in post-modernist art theory and the intersection between technology and art. Currently, I am serving as the Business Development Officer at the Art Business Society!

I believe that I would be a fitting candidate for the position of Marketing Officer because of my diverse experiences in marketing events - I have experience in liaising with international galleries and artists as part of facilitating submissions for a large-scale art fair in Hong Kong. In addition, I have previously hosted and organized events, such as the UCL Chinese Society Variety Show, as well s Christmas Ball, Orientation Camp, and Debate Competitions for Hong Kong Joint School Economics Association.

I also have a passion for graphics design and editing - I have been honing my skills as a visual design Intern at a online curated art marketplace and an art fair, where I create social media and promotional materials. I have produced key marketing materials such as logo design, poster & ad design, promo video editing, branding for a new podcast series, and merchandise design. I believe my experience in design can be leveraged to create visually compelling marketing materials that can attract more people to the society and increase its visibility.

I am excited about the opportunity to get more involved in the Art Business Society and bring more opportunities to everyone interested in the business side of art. Thank you for reading this and

Yelyzaveta Zhura

Hi all,

As second-year Philosophy and History of Art student with a passion for the arts and experience in marketing, I believe that I am well-suited to promote the Art Business society's activities and increase its visibility both on social media and on campus. My qualifications align well with the requirements of this role for the following reasons:

  • I am competent at using Adobe Creative Suite software and Canva to create visually appealing graphics and videos for social media posts (and can work in a variety of graphic styles - from minimalism to edgy brutalism).
  • I have previously worked on successful marketing campaigns for the events of the UCL Debating Society and have experience in event planning and management. This taught me how to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • I believe in the power of collaboration and would seek out partnerships with other student societies and organizations to promote the Art Business society's events and initiatives to as many people as possible. Additionally, I would prioritise collecting feedback from members to continuously improve our marketing strategies and ensure that we are effectively communicating with our target audience.

Overall, I am confident that my passion for the arts, marketing expertise, and collaborative spirit make me the ideal candidate for this role, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Art Business society.

Anastasia Velikova

I am currently the marketing officer for the Art Business society and have been since the beginning of Term 2. I really like my position, and would be interested in continuing my work in the creation of posts, stories, and advertisements for the society. I have enjoyed working for the society, as I find the job fun and enjoyable, and I really love the events, and the networking opportunities we are provided. I will be a second-year BA History of Art student and I will have time to manage the Instagram page and be involved in the society. I have previous experience with creating posts, posters and marketing, operating Instagram stories and Facebook posts for the gallery in which I interred, which were mainly working to advertise events and current exhibitions in the gallery space. I am a creative person and I enjoy making posters. I am also easy-going and outspoken, so I can communicate with many of my peers and advertise the projects we do in the society.
