Victor Ignat

I am writing to apply for the position of Treasurer in the UCL Art Business Society. As a business enthusiast and a dedicated member of the society, I believe I possess the necessary skills and experience to excel in this role.

As an undergraduate student majoring in Economics and Business, I have completed various courses in accounting, asset pricing, private equity, and investment management. I have also participated in business-related extracurricular activities, including the UCL Hatchery and the Asset Management Society.

I am constantly eager to learn new things and gain more experience, and, as a final-year student, this would be my first time applying to a society position. Nonetheless, given my experience so far with managing a business within the Hatchery I strongly believe I have the necessary experience of being a treasurer. In the evergrowing digitalisation of Art, I also feel comfortable giving advice to upcoming entrepreneurs from our society.

If selected for the position of Treasurer, I am committed to using my skills and experience to help the Art Business Society achieve its financial goals. I will ensure that the society's funds are managed responsibly and transparently and that all financial reports are accurate and up-to-date. I will also work closely with the administrative team to develop investment strategies that align with the society's mission and objectives.

I would like to apply for the role of business development officer as I have an intense passion for art and the art business world which has fascinated me since I discovered it as a young adult. I study Game Design and Film at UCL, and my favourite artists include Salvador Dali and Ralph Steadman.

My employment in the custom framing service has enabled me to interact with art collectors and a wide variety of art, furthering my interest and widening my understanding of the art world. I am looking to further expand my knowledge and create connections with the business world for the society and for those seeking a future within the industry.

As an individual I am eloquent, outgoing and excel at forging relationships, making me a good point of communication for visitors and contacts from the art world.

I am innovative and well organised, if I were to be in this position I would seek to create interesting and enjoyable activities, which I hope would further unify the society and increase communication. I believe art creates opinions and discussions that ought to be explored, in turn strengthening our understanding of the art business world and the art within it.

I believe I would make a great candidate as I'm amicable at establishing relationships and making things happen, combined with my passion for art and my future goals and endeavours in the art business world, I feel as though I am well suited for the role of your business development officer.
