Anime Society: Treasurer

I am writing to apply for the position of Treasurer in the UCL Anime Society. As a business enthusiast, anime enjoyer and dedicated member of the society, I believe I possess the necessary skills and experience to excel in this role.

As an undergraduate student majoring in Economics and Business, I have completed various courses in accounting, asset pricing, private equity, and investment management. I have also participated in business and leadership-related extracurricular activities, including the UCL Hatchery and the Gaming Society(as a team captain). Through these experiences, I have gained a solid understanding of business management and investment strategies.

I am constantly eager to learn new things and gain more experience, and, as a final-year student, this would be my first time applying to a society position. Nonetheless, given my experience so far with managing a business within the Hatchery I strongly believe I have the necessary experience of being a treasurer. 

If selected for the position of Treasurer, I am committed to using my skills and experience to help the Anime Society achieve its financial goals. I will ensure that the society's funds are managed responsibly and transparently and that all financial reports are accurate and up-to-date. I will also work closely with the executive board to develop investment strategies that align with the society's mission and objectives.

Hi everyone, my name’s Arjun (you may also know me as your beloved Levi from the discord :). You might’ve seen me posting art of my favourite anime characters, or most recently working on some new emotes of our mascot Yuni-chan!

The Anime Society has quickly become a place where I’ve made great friends and can really be myself whether its playing with you guys at games nights, meeting up and going out together or just chatting on discord. It’s my hope that I can work with the rest of the committee to provide others with such a space as well. I hope to work closely in particular with the Events, Welfare and Community and Marketing Officers to provide a great schedule of fun events and activities with something to cater to the variety interests of our society members.

Outside university, I currently help manage the funds for a martial arts class and holiday activity camps for children. Both are volunteer-run, and paid for through donations to the overarching charity, so being sensible and cost-effective with funds has been an important skill that I’ve developed in this role, so I don’t leave our budget looking like Rengoku after Mugen Train! I believe that the skills I have developed through experiences like these places me in a great position to be your treasurer for the coming year.
