Hello,

If there's any other nominations, please ignore this one. I only nominated myself because I didn't know if there were any others and that I want this society to still exist next year.

Long live the writer's society!

Francesca A Parrotta

Hi, I’m Francesca and I’m a third-year Maths and Modern Languages student and the current Treasurer of UCL Writers’ Society. As one of the members of the current committee, I have had the chance to familiarise myself with the society, to organise events and engage with its many participants; some of you might have seen me at poetry feedback or open mics, usually reading performance poetry or tracing connections between poetry and maths. This society has represented a deeply valuable part of my time here at UCL and I would like to contribute to it as much as I can. Therefore I am running to be Welfare Officer for the next academic year! During my second year, I have already covered this role, organising zoom welfare-themed workshops both as  standalone and in organisation with other UCL societies. For the next year, I would be aiming to keep the current welfare studying workshops. Moreover, I would aim to organise events and maintain the society welcoming and inclusive, for example extending the current cooperations with Gender&Feminism Society and the LGBTQ+ Network.
