Writers' Society: Community Outreach Officer

Hi! I’m Sanjana, a second year law student and I’ll be running for Community Outreach Officer for next year!

Being part of the writers society since first year, I’ve always been struck by how inclusive and inviting it is. This year I wanted to be more involved and contribute to that atmosphere.

The voices of the community are what helps the society grow and evolve and I hope to facilitate open discussion and ideas for exciting events and workshops with external charities for example and other societies within UCL. These opportunities would not only reflect the wishes of the society members, but also create fun and engaging events to learn more about writing and meet new friends with the same passion as you!

Having submitted my works to many writing competitions I am familiar with the process and would strive to ensure that society members were given the opportunity to submit their writing to journals and such competitions. I strongly believe that writing when shared becomes more beautiful than before and it would be a priority to ensure that members are able to present their works outside the society as well.

I hope to serve the society next year and keep it as wholesome and creative as it already is!
