Laura Sarinova

As a second-year student of BSc. Statistics and Management for Business, I am familiar with the essential marketing techniques and principles. During my studies, I had learnt about different aspects of business, but marketing has always been my main interest. I organised, promoted and managed many events and competitions as a gymnastics coach, student representative, and sales assistant. Through my leadership and event experience, I possess excellent communication skills and the ability to adopt voice for diverse audiences and varying purposes, a highly professional attitude and a significant ability to manage and work well in a team. My skills and experience will enable me to deliver successful results as a Head of Marketing in a challenging and stimulating environment.

Sharanya Balamyuran

My aim as Head of Marketing is to build a stronger community of empowered women using social media and advertising. I will prioritise giving members a greater voice and increasing channels through which members can engage and collaborate, whilst being a friendly source of support.

I hope to implement three key ideas in this role:

(1) A weekly podcast featuring; interviews with the inspirational event guests. Q&A sessions answering questions sent in by listeners about the finance world, applications, etc. Discussion sessions between UCL students sharing experiences and tips, providing invaluable insights to successfully enter the financial sector.

(2) Regular, fun Instagram polls and surveys to increase engagement with members, gain constructive post-event feedback and find out current issues of most interest, allowing the society to increase participation by tailoring the WinF experience to its members.

(3) Increased communication links such as collaborative event stories where event attendees can upload videos and insights gained from the event, live, to other students who couldn’t attend allowing members to interact, creating a closer-knit community of like-minded individuals.

I believe my passion for the ethos of this society, alongside my experience, from managing business social media accounts to creating effective multi-platform advertisements in my role as student ambassador for Shooting Stars Hospice, equip me to effectively carry out this role alongside the committee.

Bring the Best:

I’ll utilize the power of posters, videos, social media, etc., to maximize our society’s influence. I aim to create inspiring publicity for incoming activities and bring brilliant pictures for memorable moments.

Why me:

- Served as the Head of the Publicity Department in student government during high school; Wrote and edited articles for my high school’s official newsletter account twice a week.

- Previous experience in website design: Designed a website with Wix for an NGO programme; Equipped with HTML (Website Design Language) skills.

- Previous experience with Canva and video editing: One of the videos I cut got 30K+ views and 900+ likes.

All these experiences give me a certain degree of communicational ability and leadership skills, a relatively stable but with a passion, a strong implementation capacity. I’m confident in handling daily work and upcoming challenges.

Ananya Gaur

As the Head of Marketing, I would positively impact the career choices of my fellow female students like the way WinF has impacted mine over the past year.

I am suited for this role as I have great experience in organizing events & enjoy coming up with new initiatives. I founded the first-ever club & virtual debating forum of my school. As its President, I organized a career fair by inviting 30+ colleges from across the globe along with holding events like carnivals & anti-bullying seminars.

Having my own successful YouTube channel with 800,000 views & a Wix blog since 2020, I would bring my expertise in design and photography. As marketing assistant at Welkin Stars World School, I honed my design skills by creating a vast array of digital content & gained experience in using software like Premiere Pro & Canva.

At WinF, I would take the following initiatives:

  • Record short video statements by guest speakers, companies co-hosting the event, & attendees about their experience. This would help market future events & provide motivation to the WinF team while allowing them to recognize the room for improvement
  • Create engaging quizzes on latest financial developments on social media
  • Use my video editing skills to prepare professional videos with snippets of our events for social media
  • Use my communication skills to address potential audience at lectures & seminars & encourage them to associate with the society
