Lucie Bezner

Hey, my name is Lucie and I’m a second-year pharmacy student. I’ve been in the tennis society for the last two years now and I can’t wait to re-join next year. I fell in love with the society, its activities and obliviously trainings, so now I want to also play a small role in this society.

As a communication secretary, I guarantee to keep you updated on the latest events. I can’t wait to see what the tennis club has in store for us next year, but I’m sure that it will be the greatest year of all. I will be there to communicate with the rest of the committee and bring all the latest news, events and updates to you guys.

About me, I have some prior experience with graphic design and I know how to create and upload Instagram posts. I will also ensure that info about The Rocket/Phineas socials are not posted the night before, but rather a couple days prior to the social!

Vote for me, if you want to see me as your communication sec next year!

Maria Volkov

This has been my first year as a part of UCL tennis society and a BUCS player. It has been a great experience that has been heavily influenced by the social aspect of the club. I think that one of the best things about tennis society is the ‘family’ environment that is created regardless of which team you are in and this is developed through attending various tennis events throughout the year and as comm sec, it is essential to make sure as many people as possible know about these events. Instagram posts are a key part of this and I think I can use my artistic and design skills to produce appealing and inviting posts. If I was a comm sec, I would put my creativity into practice by helping to curate Instagram posts, newsletters, and more. I want to continue to grow this tennis community and I believe that the comm sec will play a vital role in this.

Amelia Snook

I have gained valuable experience with social media through a variety of roles, including Media Officer for FutureFrontline (a healthcare organisation) where I regularly create posts to promote events. I also helped my brothers create a tennis Instagram account over lockdown to teach people technique and new drills that they can do from their back garden. I am creative and would be able to engage large numbers of members through newsletters and social media posts. This year I have been part of the PhotoSoc committee which provides me with responsibility and understanding of team dynamics but also has given me greater experience with photography which I can use to take more professional sports photos of players at matches. My tennis experience includes playing and coaching (as a Level 2 coach I teach on a weekly basis) and I was tennis captain in school. As Communication Secretary, I would work closely with the Social Secretaries to ensure that the events are promoted well in advance so that as many members can come as possible. I will send out reminders about these events closer to the time and also would like to post images of members of the club and what everyone has been up to – this will include photos from tennis matches, trainings and the Wednesday sports nights.
