Hi, I’m Rhea, a first-year economics student and I’m running for welfare officer.

As a committed member of the Economics and Finance Society, I believe welfare is a fundamental part of ensuring the society runs successfully. It is important that everyone feels welcomed in this society and I want to ensure that this is an inclusive and diverse environment for everyone with equal access to opportunities. I believe that my strengths of organisation, communication, and teamwork align well with the qualities for this role. I want to put forth the idea of having drop-in sessions both online and in-person where you can address any issues or queries you may have, which I will act on to improve the welfare of our society. This will be an anonymous community and create a safe space where you can talk about mental health or challenges faced. Continually Incorporating feedback is important to ensure everyone feels included and improve the welfare of the society. I want to encourage a greater emphasis on campaigns that promote diversity and inclusivity, an important part of progressing as a society. If given this opportunity, I aim to bring an environment that will benefit everyone.
