Cheese Grater Magazine: Graphics Editor

Hey guys, I’m Lily and I like to draw. That’s (almost) it. Aside from art being one of those things that I live and breathe for (cringe, but alas the truth), here are some other reasons why I’m standing:

I wish to build on top of CG's unique style and further improve the visual experience. The CG covers have always been visually succinct and powerful, but the articles/written body could benefit with more visuals. This will improve the reading experience and make room for more creative opportunities.

These opportunities include more engagement with artists in the wider community. E.g. organising a themed comic contest for each issue and featuring the winner(s)’ works. 

Other ideas I would like to experiment with: black&white photography; collages that integrate design, words, and photos; cheese grater crossword.

In graphic design, I strive for simplicity. We live in an era where time is pressed, but graphics are special in their ability to tell an entire story at one glance. Combining simplicity and candidness will strengthen the magazine’s ‘brand’. 

Having written for the magazine this past year, CG has a community and ethos I truly value. I am driven to work with the rest of the team to create this magazine. 

Lastly, the elephant in the room. Yes, I am proficient with photoshop and InDesign.
