Aldrie Chandradinata

Hi there, my name is Aldrie!

As someone who entered university without an idea of what to pursue as a career, I have experienced first-hand the impact Business Society has in supporting career development. The society exposed me to the world of consulting and sparked my interest in this industry. Through my role as a Consulting Vice President, I intend to ensure that every Business Society member has the same opportunity to gain a better understanding of the consulting industry.

I believe that my experience organising the mentorship programme for UCL First Gen Society as a First Year Representative will be especially useful. I was able to recruit enough consulting mentors and have thus built a network of professional consultants who I can reach out to for speaker panels or the Consulting Masterclass. Having been the Head of Competitions for the Association of Indonesian Students in the UK Olympic Games, I am also confident in my ability to work in teams and organise the International Case Championship.

As your next Consulting VP, my objectives are:

  • Expand the mentorship programme in terms of the number of mentors and mentees as well as the variety of consulting fields represented by our mentors
  • Host more case workshops to provide the opportunity to practice case studies without pressures of a competition
  • Transform Wine & Dine into a large scale Consulting Networking Dinner
  • Create a consulting guidebook that is accessible to all members

Zara Mahesh Ratnani

Hi everyone! My name is Zara Ratnani and I am running to be the VP of the Consulting Division of the Business Society as I would like to benefit members of the society by implementing ideas that would develop the consulting division holistically. My experience of being Head Girl at high school has equipped me with communication, networking and leadership skills, which would prepare me to take on this position. Hence, I would like to leverage these skills with my ardour for consulting, in order to improve the consulting opportunities that this society offers.

If elected, I plan to:

  1. Organise webinars and in-person events by reaching out to consultants in firms to provide members with invaluable insights regarding personal experiences and the path to land a job in a consulting firm.
  2. Host workshops focused on educating members with tips on cracking cases and other aspects of the application process
  3. Work with other divisions to produce a wider range of educational content regarding consulting on social media platforms
  4. Organise mentorship opportunities for members and reach out to professionals that are interested in being mentors for consulting masterclasses
  5. Expand members’ knowledge regarding other aspects of consulting such as technology and HR.

That being said, I hope to take on this position and put in all my efforts to ensure that the consulting division of this society is running smoothly to the best of my ability.

Varian Teo

Hi everyone! I am Varian Teo and I am running to be the Vice President of Business Society's Consulting Division. Having had the experience as a First-Year Executive at the society, I have had the opportunity to lead various initiatives such as panel events and Non-Finance Orientation Day and outreach for speakers to events and competitions, such as the upcoming International Case Competition spearheaded by Business Society's Consulting Division! As a scholar from Singapore, I have always had the passion to help local businesses internationalise to new markets and discover potential in new ventures. As such, I hope to leverage on this passion and the network that I have to build on the existing consulting opportunities for all BizSoc members regardless of your experience in this field.

I am standing because I would like to:

1) support all students from a variety of backgrounds to discover what a Consulting career entails

2) facilitate students in acquiring the creativity edge and confidence spark that they need in consulting

What would be my next steps as VP of consulting:

1) Increase the frequency of our Consulting Masterclass session to allow for more opportunities to have a mentor, given the overwhelming response last year

2) Expand the suite of Consulting competitions, with a focus on more inter-university competitions

3) Encourage my executives to organise initiatives that they are passionate about

Hannah Behrning

Hi Everyone,

I would love the chance and opportunity to be the Consulting Vice President of the Business Society this year. Having been part of the Business Society this year and heavily engaging with the Consulting aspects and events would make it an honour to take on this role to use my experience to develop and push the society in this area.

As your Consulting Vice President, I want to make sure our events and efforts are fun while of course being informational and helpful to you. I would want to use my network and experience to reach out to top Consulting firms to organise and host events to provide you with the best possible Consulting opportunities. To develop and grow this flagship division of the Business Society further I want to highlight the importance of case practice and build training sessions as well as provide a network for students to find case study partners. Ultimately, I want to build on the achievements form the past through key programmes such as the Mentorship Scheme.

I aim to work closely together with you and the committee to discuss potential future ideas and determine programmes and events to maximise the opportunities and experience we can give to you.

Thank you for your time and please do not hesitate to get in contact with me to ask me any questions about my plans or ideas at [email protected]
