Jocelyn Shao

Hi, I am Jocelyn. I have been a member of the society since the start of this year. Unfortunately, I haven't been to events as often as I would like. However, I would like to offer myself as a social secretary this year.
My goal would be to organize extra events outside our usual schedule and collab with more different societies, and also host more events on days other than Monday. It would also be my priority to post on social media more often and try using new platforms such as Instagram or setting up a discord channel for our society. I have been a communication officer in board game society last year and I am hoping this experience will help in serving the book club.

Lara Gabbitas

I've been part of Book Club since my fresher's week, and I've loved spending my Monday evenings discussing literature, poetry and whatever random topics come up. If I was part of Book Club committee next year I would ensure that future UCL students could continue enjoying this friendly environment to relax and de-stress in every week.

I'd love to give Book Club more of a social media presence so that we can attract new members and communicate our events clearly. The social aspect of book club is very important to me, and I'd always be up for a drink or coffee if anyone fancied a chat. I'd collaborate with the Events Secretary to make sure that Book Club had lots of socials which were well promoted on the social media.

Vote for me as social secretary!
