Hi there!
I am a current first year in Biological Sciences, and I would love to become the Biopharmaceutical Society Welfare Officer for the coming year!
In this role, I would aim to make sure the experience of all members of the society is enjoyable by taking on all feedback and efficiently relaying it back to the committee. Then I would hope to implement the suggested changes in order for members to feel included and appreciated. I will also constantly look out for the mental health of all members of the society and direct them towards appropriate UCL well-being services when necessary.
My role as a school council representative in high school will assist me in this role, as I have experience in collecting the concerns of my year group, and effectively addressing them following liaising with school leaders. I hope to transfer the skills I developed into this role as well.
All in all, I hope to make Biopharmaceutical Society a place where everyone can feel welcome. Thank you for reading and I hope you will vote for me in the role of Welfare Officer.
Hi I’m Koon Li and I’m running for the welfare officer of UCL Biopharmaceutical Society.
Have been served as the welfare officer of UCL School of Pharmacy Society, I realise the importance of diversity in supporting our students, especially when it comes to career planning. We all have different ambitions and that is completely fine. That in fact makes us having one of the most diverse alumni network.
If I get elected as the welfare officer, I will bring back the career fair with a more diverse approach. In addition to traditional industry-led career fair, I will add the component of community pharmacy, life science consulting, healthcare finance groups, startups, scientific research and scientific writings. This aims to fit both our undergraduate and postgraduate students in an interdisciplinary approach.
I look forward to serve all of you in the coming year! Thank you!
Hello! My name is Jina and I am hoping to become your welfare officer
The pandemic helped us notice how important our wellbeing is. Biopharmaceutical society is one way we can definitely bring up innovative ideas and obtain insights into the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
My aim:
- Compile an extensive guide regarding the welfare services
- Organise regular lectures or talk about how to take care of their health and how to manage their stress.
- Provide a confidential box where members can talk about wellbeing-related subjects anonymously, with advice and solutions.
- Set up a drop-in session either virtually or face-to-face with experts including psychiatrists, counselors, etc.
Based on experiences as a safeguarding role from high school, I believe I can improve the level of wellbeing around our society, always prioritizing our wellbeing. Along with these aims, I hope to make our society a safer environment to bloom our talents and abilities without any barriers.
Hi everyone! My name is Vanshita, and I’ll be applying to be the Welfare officer for Biopharmaceutical society.
This was one of the first societies I joined after coming to UCL because of my interest in having a career in this field one day. For this reason, I want to become a part of this committee and work with like-minded people who have similar goals. I want to be able to create a welcoming environment for those who envision themselves being involved with biopharmaceutical companies and corporations. By working closely with the president and other members to bridge the gap between employers and students. This can be achieved by having an active career support group and hosting frequent career talks and fairs. I wish that in the next year, we are able to provide more insightful events and discussions by having experts coming and sharing their experiences. As the Welfare officer, I will support the members of the society to improve and build on the success we have achieved so far as a society. With hopes to expand the scope of the society even further, I will work towards having conferences and workshops that will cater to and benefit all the members of the society. I understand the responsibilities that come with this role, and I am willing to give (more than) my 100%!
