Emily Pometkov

Hello everyone, I am Emily. I am a first year Biomedical Science student who is very interested in the new research and development across the board in terms of life sciences. This is why I believe this role would be a great opportunity for me to apply my passion to be able to help and share news to our society members. I also want to be able to add to the society by creating eg summaries which we can post on our instagram story - this is a great and quick way to keep members and followers informed without having to read through large articles which may not be of their interest. I also suggest to lease with the events director to create sessions where our members can come forth and practice presenting research papers, which is a key skill for every student regardless of what they want to go into.

Cindy Zhang

Hey Everyone, I'm Cindy! I'm a first year biology student standing for research director of biopharmaceutical society because I'm interested in researching gene-based therapy and cellular biologic therapy. As a current member of BiopharmaSoc, I have enjoyed many of the events and would love to contribute my efforts into continuing an integral part of the society.Primarily, I would like to relay these scientific developments and make the forefront of biopharmaceutical research accessible and understandable to students of all academic backgrounds.

As the Research Director, I will run the following:

  • Monthly biopharmaceutical newsletter reporting on research insights
  • Bi-monthly biopharmaceutical podcast with guest speakers including professors, PHD students and researchers to discuss current field advancements
  • Monthly social discussion platform where everyone can share their thoughts on the latest industry research
  • (All great experiences for your application! :))
Yannan Li

I am a 1st year Biomedical Sciences student and interested in biopharmaceutical studies and research.

I've been doing research since high school,  designed a few researches ( Marine Species Identification using DNA Bar Coding, The Extraction and Application of Mint...) and have rewarded the National Marine Talent. I'm confident to design meaningful and achievable experiments, make good management  of the laboratory and contribute to the society as much as I can.

With research experience and academic knowledge, I want to help the members that have either biopharmaceutical knowledge or not to enjoy research and lab work, to find out more about this area and work. Being a "bio scientist" is possible for every member in this society. Also, I would like to design and hold more events next year to make the society more active and attract more people to be interested in biopharmaceutical study.

Please vote for me and see how we run the research department and the biopharmaceutical society!
